KnowledgeBank Named USDA's Farm Service Agency "2008 Small Business Contractor of the Year"

McLean, VA, June 25, 2008 - KnowledgeBank (KB) was recognized today in a ceremony by the United States Department of Agriculture as the Farm Service Agency’s "2008 Small Business Contractor of the Year."

Rebecca Contreras, who leads KB’s federal sector consulting practice, accepted the award today at the ceremony which was held at the USDA’s Whitten Building in Washington, DC. The Farm Service Agency (FSA) nominated the company for its outstanding work over the past year. KB, as the prime contractor, conducted a national organizational assessment of FSA to identify opportunities for greater efficiency and effectiveness.

"KnowledgeBank's organizational assessment served as a key first step to finding better ways to do business and improving our mission delivery," said Dennis J. Taitano, agency Director of Office of Budget and Finance (CFO) for the FSA. "Their study provided an independent perspective on the unique challenges facing our Agency. Their findings and recommendations will serve as value-added contributions into our transformation journey. The professionalism and extensive public and private sector expertise they brought to this engagement were first rate and the effectiveness to which they interacted with all levels of our Agency enhanced the credibility of their findings."

Tom Wimer, KB’s founder, President and CEO said, "This award is very special to us in that it comes directly from our clients within the USDA and FSA in recognition of the hard work and accomplishments of our FSA team."

Since its founding in 2003, KnowledgeBank has grown to almost 60 team members supporting 150 client organizations, and blends world class professional business and consulting expertise with a practical, hands-on approach to getting work done.
